Support the Freedom Ride

Women in the Middle East are eager to be equipped for success in leadership. They have the ability and desire. Unfortunately, roadblocks and dead ends fill the road before them. What they need is for someone to go before them to help pave the way to success. That is why Ruba Abbassi, the Founder, and CEO of the Arab Woman Today Center in Amman, Jordan, and a keen team member of Rum for cycling, is embarking on a Freedom Ride to see women equipped and confident for life's journey ahead of them. Ruba is full of passion for empowering women in Jordan and the Arab World. She is challenging herself to complete 800 KM and dedicating it to fundraise for women's training programs. She will cycle every day except Thursdays through September.

As she cycles 800 kilometers this month, you can sponsor a kilometer of the Freedom Ride at a donation of 25 JD per kilometer. The original plan was to complete this ride in Spain. However, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the Freedom Ride will be done locally, which means a more rugged and challenging terrain. However, we are confident that this is accomplishable. Ruba will be providing weekly updates on the Freedom Ride, including the number of kilometers ridden and a personal glimpse into cycling.

How can your 25 JD help make a difference in helping these women?

For years, ACCTS-AWT has been equipping women leaders through our Annual Networking Conference. More recently, AWT has provided vocational and economic empowerment training for women. This type of training is and has been especially pertinent amid the global pandemic. With many women laid off from their jobs, it is crucial to provide them with skills to regain and continue their livelihood. AWT currently offers the following types of training:

  • Leadership training
  • Career path success
  • Life-growth program
  • E-Learning and online training

By your support, you partner with us in equipping more successful women leaders in their sphere of influence. The results are healthier families, a stronger society, more women empowered for the workforce, and women's chance to use their abilities for good.

I hope you will join us! Let us all do this together for a better future for women in our region—one with hope, light, and freedom to walk the ride and engage in the journey of empowerment. Each one of you can make a difference!
