The Second Youth Conference - Good Citizenship

Under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Samir Habashneh, President of the Jordan Society for Science & Culture (JSSC), ACCTS holds its second annual conference titled Eureka.

14-16 November 2019

The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Um Al-Summaq, Amman, Jordan (ACCTS/AWT) – Based on the directives of King Abdullah II to beware of false news and the dangers of social media on life, ACCTS held this training conference titled "Youth and Genuine Citizenship," covering topics on the Epistemology, social media and proper teaching methods.

It is our second meeting renewed this year to shed light on the elite class of Jordan's youth, the future leaders, and the knights of change. Here in Jordan, we believe in the Hashemite March that the Hashemites have been following since they assumed the leadership of this great country rich in history, originality, and belonging. Our social role in ACCTS is to complete the Hashemite vision by pushing forward development despite the economic, social, and political challenges facing Jordan today.

Fifty-four young males and females 19- to 30-year-olds came from several cities in Jordan to attend this one of a kind program. Distinguished guests of honor attended our opening session, and two words given by His Excellency Engineer Samir Habashneh and the Ambassador of the Netherlands. Board members, in addition to friends and partners, also honored us by attending the opening ceremony.

This year's conference, titled Eureka, focused on Epistemology and investigating the truths from its source, not sticking to positions or adopting views of unknown origin or promoter. Besides, to a dialogue lecture on Madrasati Initiative launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2008. With an overall goal of creating safe and dynamic learning environments that significantly, contribute to improving the quality of education in the selected schools.

Such an annual gathering of youth uplifts us, as they are full of potential and come with a zeal for their home communities. This program grants the youth the opportunity to enjoy a networking experience of fellowship and undergo personal growth. Moreover, such gatherings grant us the opportunity to empower the youth and set an excellent example of genuine citizenship.

The youth expressed the benefit they gained from the sessions we hosted, as they represented a platform to share insights that would help them on their journey of achievement and influence in their positions of leadership, whether in church, society, or career life.

We believe the youth had a pleasant time at the conference where they shared experiences and undergone personal growth to serve our beloved homeland Jordan. We seek to set a good example through our genuine citizenship, aiming at building society and promoting national unity.
