Irbid, Jordan (ACCTS-ICC) - ACCTS Community Center in Husson graduated the fourth group of ladies who joined the sewing program offered at the center after accomplishing three months of training. The program empowered the participants with sewing skills that enable them to support their living.

Some aspects of the courses were learning to use the sewing machines as beginners, tailoring using of batron, sewing straight and curved lines, taking measurements, cutting the cloth using the batron and making a different kind of clothes. In addition to recycling old garments, fabrics and others.

Rawan, a Syrian refugee who joined the sewing program, is one of the grateful participants for having the center as an opportunity to help her change her lifestyle. After receiving her sewing certificate, she said, "My husband used to prevent me from leaving the house because of our daughters, in addition to some marital problems. I heard about the center from some of my friends. I told my husband that we can register our daughters in the preschool program provided by the center. When he saw how the staff showered us with their love and respect, he allowed me to visit the center more often. And later to join the sewing program which changed my lifestyle and had a great impact on my family life socially, psychologically and financially."

We are already looking forward to the next graduation ceremony in order to see more transformed lives.
