ACCTS Newsletter September 2022

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

Dear family, friends, and partners,

One of our South African partners, Mergon Foundation, invited Nabeeh to come to Central Asia to work with six emerging leaders and their wives from the Middle East and North Africa. For three days, he led coaching sessions on leadership and transition. He also coached and mentored a young leader planting churches among Kurdish believers in Central Asia. While there, he preached at his church and spent time encouraging this young leader. Nabeeh is on the Middle East consulting committee for Mergon Foundation and was honored to serve one of our valued partners in this capacity.

Sincerely,

Nabeeh and Ruba Abbassi

AWT launches AWT Academy

Since AWT began preparing for the 2022 year last fall, we have been working toward our growth development plan. Part of that plan included making our training accessible to women who cannot join us for our on-ground or online training at the times they are offered. With that, we began the plan to launch AWT Academy, a self-paced e-course platform where women can access our training material. We have successfully launched the self-discovery e-course, and up until now, over fifty women have completed it. We will be adding more courses over time.

Essentials for Women

Did you know the Bible contains over one hundred stories that include women? Essentials for Women is a Bible study based on narratives about women that uses the inductive Bible study method to help women understand Scripture for themselves. Nineteen women from eleven churches in Jordan participated in this training led by NEO Leaders and Women in the Window. These women understood better how to study God’s Word, were reminded of who God said they were, and grew in their excitement to study the Bible.

“I usually have trouble reading and understanding the Bible. I will now start reading using the inductive method. I am sure if I used the five steps, I can easily grasp any passage and eventually apply it on my life.”

“I will start a Bible study with my husband and two daughters… I will use the inductive Bible study method. I believe it is simple and clear for all ages.”

Equilibrium Point – E-courses for Youth

The ACCTS Youth Department launched an e-course known as Equilibrium Point. These e-courses focuses on raising awareness on having a balanced life in four main areas such as mental balance, existential equilibrium, financial balance, and sexual awareness. So far, fifteen participants have completed all four modules. Because this content is online, it has reached people in Jordan, Egypt, and Algeria. We are thrilled to see the impact of the ACCTS Youth Department reaching beyond Jordan.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Have you wondered how you can partner with ACCTS? Soon, friends, families, and church groups will begin planning Christmas and holiday gatherings. One way to partner with us would be to take a few minutes of your holiday gathering to share about ACCTS and our ministry. The good news is, you don’t have to do it all on your own. To help you, we can provide you with needed information or set up a short zoom call for an ACCTS team member to take a few minutes to answer questions or share a brief impact story. If you are interested in this, please email us at rdd.accts@gmail.com to start the conversation.
