April 2021 ACCTS Newsletters

Easter is celebrated on May 2nd here in Jordan. From two thousand years ago until now, we are facing the same challenge about the person of Christ. Is he really the Son of God? We live as salt and light within our community and share the living Christ through our lives.

Easter teaches us the meaning of faith and what it is to feel the Lord's blessing in our lives. It is a time to pray to God and ask him to shower endless love, joy, and peace on our families, ministries, and communities.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Peter 1:3

Congratulations to our son!

Celebrate with us the official engagement of our oldest son, Ramzi, to Miss Dima Samarneh. We look forward to their wedding, which is planned for August 20th of this year. Congratulations to the couple and the families!

Sincerely,

Nabeeh and Ruba Abbassi

Jordan turns 100!

Did you know that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan recently turned 100? Established by King Abdullah I on April 11, 1921, Jordan celebrated its centennial on April 11. For a hundred years, Jordan has maintained its firm roots and continued moving forward despite the circumstances and difficulties. To commemorate the special occasion, ACCTS created a short video with an address by Dr. Nabeeh Abbassi, extending his congratulations.

Authentic Leadership Training

AWT recently led the first of two groups in the Authentic Leadership training for Christian women leaders. Twenty-six women from nine countries participated virtually in this first group. The theme was discovering your true north and staying focused as a leader. The next group will meet virtually in September. You can read more about the training here.

"God has started working something in my life, and this training helped me continue the journey. The exercises you provided were very practical and supportive. Thank you!"

"Thank you for the trust you instilled inside us. I felt very comfortable sharing my heart without hesitation. You provided a trustworthy environment."

Walk Thru the Bible – Comprehensive Christian Women Growth Program

We are excited to host our first Walk Thru the Bible workshop, a fun and exciting event that teaches the New Testament's big picture in three hours, aiming to ignite women's passion for God's Word. Attendees will learn the significant events, people, and chronology of the New Testament and understand the storyline. They will put the familiar stories together for the first time by memorizing 40 words accompanied by 40 signs in a 90 second timeframe.

Youth Department Update

We believe social media plays a crucial role in connecting people, developing relationships, and even providing a greater opportunity to reach larger communities and build bridges with them. We are delighted to announce that we will launch the Youth and Genuine Citizenship social media platforms in May. These platforms will help us create some significant leads to enhance our vision, mission, and values.

More Feedback From:

The Honor and Shame Campaign:

We are still receiving feedback from women who participated in our Honor and Shame campaign! We are grateful for the way God used this campaign to reaffirm women of their God-given value.

"Based on what I learned from the workshop, I can say to myself, 'I am important, loved, and beautiful. I am accepted in the eyes of God.' I find my value in him and his precious blood that He shed for me. He is worthy of praise because he is good and faithful. He never forgets his beloved, precious daughters, the future mothers."

Our Facebook Page:

"I am a daily visitor of your page and a frequent follower of all your posts in general. When I leave a comment, I feel that I can express my feelings. It revealed my thinking patterns because I refer to my comment after a while and examine if my perspective remained the same or changed."

An Encouraging Message Via WhatsApp:

A psychological researcher from Iraq who specializes in women’s issues invited her friends to attend our campaign "It Is Not a Shame" and shared this encouraging message with us.

"We haven't addressed this topic before in Iraq. It is the first time I heard about it in this manner. I invited my friends to work with women in the ministry and community fields. The topics of the sessions and especially the training workshop influenced me greatly. They spoke to me about things to which I didn't pay attention before. Thank you, Arab Woman Today, for seeking development constantly. Please always inform me of any training or activity that you conduct. I am very interested, and my friends are, as well."
